HEALTHY DRINK

SUBJECT: English and Physical Education

YEAR:1st & 2nd Primary Education

TIME: 4 sessions

MATERIALS: 

oranges,strawberries, bananas,pears....., milk, apples,blender,fruit plastic toys.

OBJECTIVES:

Learn vocabulary related to fruits-

Discover ways to prepare juices and smoothies.

Practice healthy habits by having healthy drinks


CONTENTS:


Fruit vocabulay.

Recipe instructions

Cooking vocabulary: chop,cut,add,open, peel,apron.....


SESSION 1.

 ·         Introduce the vocabulary by watching the video “Learn fruit vocabulary” Talking flashcards.

·         Fruits guessing game. First one saying the name of the fruit get “one point” (sticker)

·         Fruit store: There are a lot of plastic fruit on the table. One student is the greengrocer. Children have to buy fruits

-“I want to buy one orange, two apples ”


SESSION

·         Review fruit vocabulary and days of the week watching the Singing walrus video. 

·         Watch the video again but this time playing a game. There are fruit plastic toys on one table and days of the week flashcards on the other table. One student (A) in front of the first table and student B in front of the flashcards table. They have to pick up the correct fruit or flashcard according to the song: 

Mondays I eat apples…..

This activity could be made challenging: spread the material around the classroom, children have to find the correct object. 

In P.E lessons, material can be placed in any part of the gym, students have to run in order to get the correct one. 

SESSION 3

·         Watch the video and sing and dance the song. “Shake, shake, shake it”.

·         Prepare the juice. Teacher will do the juice and students help her/him.

·         Drink it!!!!
