In the last five minutes of the previous session, I
introduce the activity explaining them what items they will have to bring for
next day.
In session 1, we will make our own hat with a cardboard (his/her name on it) and an apron with a recyclable apron bag (explained by a video).
Apart from that, I will bring to class the kitchen items to be used in
the next session. We will learn this vocabulary and the necessary cooking verbs
and expressions to understand the dishes. We will organize teams at random with
the app Wheeldecide (we usually use it in class).
In Session 2, we start cooking explaining that Her Majesty, the Queen of England is coming at breakfast time and every team must prepare the tastiest and the most appealing breakfast for her, following the instructions in cards (Laciana Masterchef is starting to work).
They will take
the necessary ingredients from the store, and they will have 30 minutes to
prepare it.
A jury formed by the caretaker, 1 teacher and 1 member of the school Leadership Team will be responsible for giving the final score paying attention to the presentation, taste, and cleaning.
RECIPE/s:
Every group will have to prepare 1 tray including two types of sandwiches with butter, cheese cream, pickles and the ingredients they like. Apart from that, they will prepare fruity skewers with yogurt dip and some cupcakes.
MATERIALS:
Individual
students will bring the materials to make the hat and the apron (explained in
genially presentation). They will also bring a boiled egg for the second
session.
I will provide
them with cutlery and food necessary to cook.
