DESCRIPTION:

 This lesson plan for 4th graders of primary education at intermediate level is about food and cooking. Students will take part in an oral activity about their own preferences and attitudes towards food in the UK.

The main focus of the lesson is based on food in the UK indicating that British people are becoming more experimental in their cooking and eating habits due to the growing popularity of cooking programmes.

TOPIC

 Modern British cooking; the popularity of cooking programmes.

LESSON PLAN:

 The lesson consists of a series of oral activities to help students discuss about food and cooking. To

prepare them, they will brainstorm food vocabulary. The main focus of the lesson is that in the UK British people are becoming more experimental in their cooking and eating habits due to the growing popularity of cooking programmes. Students will be asked questions relating to their opinions.


NOTES/ PIECES OF ADVICE:

Some ideas for brainstorming food vocabulary:

·         What is your favourite food?

·         What is your least favourite?

·         What is the strangest food you have ever eaten? 

          Did it taste good or bad?

·         Do you like trying new food?

·         Do you prefer your own country’s food or other kinds of food?

·         Has your country ‘adopted’ many foods from other countries?

·         If you were living abroad, which food would you miss most from               your country?
